In the late 1930s, two Portuguese merchants ordered watches that were as accurate as marine chronographs at IWC. At that time, only a huge pocket watch movement could meet their requirements for accuracy. So the watchmaker decided to use the 74 Hunter-style pocket watch movement and carry it with the watch case. This is the source of IWC Portuguese Replica Watches.
Portuguese continues the three iconic design elements in the appearance of the Portuguese series of Replica Watches, Arabic numeral scale, willow leaf pointer and curved lugs. The difference from antique Portuguese watches is that Arabic numerals have changed from flat printing to the current three-dimensional scale, with stronger layering and higher cost.
